I've been married for 14 years and it wasn't until 2 years ago that I actually learned, understood and accepted the "truth"/the teachings of the Catholic church on contraception. I spent 13 years in a Catholic school, was married in the Catholic church and I had to search for the truth on my own. It's a shame that the moral truths that set us apart in our Catholic faith are hardly ever the topic of homilies, school curriculum or marriage retreats. The fact that you waited months, and until your departure, to preach about one such truth says something. I was also glad to hear you speak of our "freedom". I agree that, that word is completely taken out of context. We are free to choose to do right or wrong, not free to decide what is right or wrong. Like you said, those truths haven't changed with the times. They never will. <br /><br />Thank you for sharing your passion and wisdom with our congregation and our children.
